Brief story

The main character is a descendant of an ancient, well-meaning magician who inadvertently caused troubles to sorrounding people because of his curse. Years later and after successful trials with short tales, the magician was able to contain his curse within a book made of special paper using his magical powers. He wrote the first and most important short tale, "The Tale of the Fisherman". This finally took away the suffering that he was causing and afterall, enjoying writing tales, he wrote many more, filling a significant book.

The present story is set of our modern days, and the book, over a thousand years, reaches the main character. Initially, nothing happens when he opens it, but soon people start dying, dead bodies sway back and forth in the sky, hanging on invisible lines extending into the air like helpless fish at the end of a fishing rod.

As society grows outraged and getting panic, the main character in this chaos discovers, that he can travel between two worlds by "changing" them. Completing certain triggers, surrounding reality shifts, and his descendant power allowing him to eliminate the curses that causing deaths in real world.

After a treacherous journey through the book's "tale world", the main character finally comes face to face with the root of all the suffering and pain: an entity known as The Fisherman.

Theme

Based on the above, the main character has access to the ability to “change” the world for himself, thereby moving, with the help of a catalyst in the form of a book, into “his world", that connected to the real one.

In the sound, I tried to convey the transition and difference between the two worlds using synths in such a way, as I imagine it.

For example, in the track "The Fisherman" at the very beginning I want to deliver exactly what, first of all, is the difference and “confrontation” between two realities with floating and kicking low synthesizers. And in the "second phase" the synthesizers become harder, conveying more power from the boss, which in turn is a pure representative of this fairy tale world.

Inspiration

The main things that inspired me are the soundtrack to the games: TLoZ: BotW, DmC 5, Shadow of the Colossus, In Other Waters, The Wild at Heart, Wuthering Waves, NieR: Automata, Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Also soundtracks to anime: Made in Abyss, Tower of God, Spice and Wolf (Remake).

And I can't not to mention, that certain works by Kevin Penkin and Amos Roddy are especially influenced my music.

Important: "Ghostwire: Tokyo" is pretty like how I see the imaginary game's setting.

Technical

The main idea behind the format of this submission is that due to limited time, I had to try to cover the entire context of the video game.

Therefore, the best thing that came to my mind was to write two tracks, the first of which is something like opening a menu and its subsequent musical accompaniment. And second one is the final battle. Thus, I tried to “cover” as much as possible with both the sound and the context of these tracks.

General genre of music is neoclassical simply because I adore it and it also perfectly conveys the mood and “perception” that I want (epic and mystical dark fantasy).

Worked on this music from scratch. When Jam started, that's when I started. I didn’t count the hours, in my DAW it doesn’t seem to show this, like in FL, but the work took up almost all the allotted time. I did it for so long because I wanted to polish certain moments as much as possible. My DAW is Ableton Live 12 and this is only soft I used.

P.S. - I have very big problems with uploading videos to YouTube and also I simply unable to register on Vimeo. Most likely all this is due to the region of my residence, but I attached screenshots and if anything, the screen recording is in the archive.
